How to play these dares

Viral dares are built to be recorded. Before you start, check how you will capture it: the in-game phone camera for a still, or the Rockstar Editor for a clip you can cut later. A dare in this category is only done when there is something to show for it.

From Tourist to Menace

Tourist dares ask for a single photograph of the right moment. Local dares need something to happen on camera, such as a chase or a lineup. Menace dares ask for a short, edited reel, where the planning and the retakes are most of the work. This category has 7 Tourist, 8 Local and 10 Menace for GTA 5, and 7 Tourist, 9 Local and 9 Menace for GTA 6.

What to avoid

If other players appear in your footage, think before you post it. A public lobby is not a film set, and people did not agree to be in your clip. Cropping, blurring names or recording in a private session avoids the problem.

Where they work best

Story Mode gives you the most control, and the Rockstar Editor and its Director Mode are built for exactly this kind of shot. In GTA Online, a private session with friends makes the group dares easier to film. For a stream, these are the dares chat can judge on the spot. The 25 GTA 6 Viral dares below were written before anyone could play the game, from what Rockstar has shown; the GTA 6 page explains how, and which may change at launch.

• Tourist Police Photo — Take a screenshot or in-game photo of a police cruiser from a safe distance. Fails if: you are arrested before getting the shot
• Tourist Sunset Shot — Capture a clean in-game photo of a vehicle with the sunset behind it. Fails if: the final image has no vehicle visible
• Tourist Mountain Shot — Photograph your vehicle at the top of a mountain or high overlook. Fails if: the vehicle is not clearly visible
• Tourist Beach Flex — Create a photo of yourself with a vehicle on the beach without being killed or arrested. Fails if: you die or are arrested before the shot
• Tourist Five Cars — Photograph five different vehicle types in one session. Fails if: you photograph fewer than five types
• Tourist Airborne — Capture a photo of a vehicle while it is clearly airborne. Fails if: the vehicle is on the ground in the final shot
• Tourist Perfect Landing — Take a photo immediately after successfully landing a difficult stunt. Fails if: you fail the stunt
• Local Wanted Selfie — Take an in-game photo while you have a wanted level and police are visible in the background. Fails if: no police are visible
• Local Five Stars On Camera — Capture a photo while at five stars with at least one police vehicle visible. Fails if: you lose the wanted level before the shot
• Local Wildlife Portrait — Photograph a wild animal without killing it. Fails if: you kill the animal
• Local Perfect Drift — Capture a clean photo of a vehicle during a visible drift. Fails if: the vehicle is not visibly drifting
• Local Low Flight — Capture an aircraft flying low over a road or beach without crashing. Fails if: the aircraft crashes
• Local Stunt Sequence — Complete and capture three different stunt moments in one session. Fails if: you fail to capture all three
• Local No Context — Take the strangest harmless photo you can create in five minutes. The room votes on it. Fails if: the room unanimously rejects it
• Local Tourist Trap — Photograph yourself at three recognizable San Andreas landmarks in one session. Fails if: you miss a landmark
• Menace Traffic Chaos — Create a large traffic jam and capture it from a high viewpoint without being arrested. Fails if: you are arrested before the photo
• Menace Police Lineup — Get three police vehicles visible in one clean in-game photo while you remain alive. Fails if: fewer than three police vehicles are visible
• Menace Five Vehicle Jump — Get five different vehicles airborne and capture each jump. Fails if: you fail to capture one of the five
• Menace Stunt From Above — Perform a stunt and capture it from the air using an aircraft or high viewpoint. Fails if: the stunt is not visible
• Menace Wanted Poster — Create a photo of yourself with a five-star wanted level, police nearby and your vehicle clearly visible. Fails if: one of the three required elements is missing
• Menace The Perfect Crash — Create a spectacular but survivable vehicle crash and capture the aftermath. Fails if: you die
• Menace Viral In One Take — Record or capture one uninterrupted stunt attempt and complete it without a retry. Fails if: you restart the attempt
• Menace Ten Second Clip — Create a ten-second clip containing a vehicle stunt, police pursuit and clean landing. Fails if: one of the three moments is missing
• Menace The Poster Shot — Create one screenshot that looks like a cover image: character, vehicle, landmark and dramatic action all visible. Fails if: one required element is missing
• Menace The Viral Reel — Create five different shareable moments in one session: stunt, pursuit, vehicle, wildlife and scenery. Fails if: you fail to capture all five

• Tourist Boat Shot — Capture a photo featuring a boat and the coastline. Fails if: the boat or coastline is missing
• Tourist Wildlife Shot — Photograph an animal without harming it. Fails if: you harm the animal
• Tourist Basketball Clip — Capture a short clip of a successful basketball play. Fails if: the play is unsuccessful
• Tourist Dirt Bike Clip — Capture a dirt-bike stunt or jump. Fails if: the bike is not airborne or performing a stunt
• Tourist Scuba Shot — Capture an underwater image during a scuba outing. Fails if: you fail to capture an underwater scene
• Local Police Pursuit — Capture police chasing you while you remain alive and wanted. Fails if: you are arrested before the capture
• Local Appearance Change — Capture before-and-after images showing a meaningful appearance change. Fails if: the two images do not show a clear change
• Local Two Protagonists — Create matching photos of Jason and Lucia in the same kind of location or situation. Fails if: you fail to capture both
• Local Leonida Contrast — Capture one urban and one rural image that feel completely different. Fails if: you fail to capture both
• Local Sunset In Leonida — Create a sunset photo with a vehicle or character silhouette. Fails if: the final image lacks the silhouette
